09.03.2021 | 9:55 PM | SANTA ANA – A man who was reportedly standing in lanes was struck and killed by a vehicle, Friday night.
Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian near the intersection of East 1st Street and North Standard Avenue around 9:55 PM.
Units arriving on scene located a male pedestrian down in the roadway with a damaged white 2003 Toyota Celica stopped nearby.
Firefighter paramedics attempted to treat the pedestrian before pronouncing them deceased on scene.
Both occupants of the Toyota remained on scene and were cooperating with law enforcement.
Initial reports indicate the Toyota was traveling westbound with a green light when it struck the pedestrian who was outside of the crosswalk standing in lanes.
All westbound lanes of East 1st Street were closed between North Standard Avenue and Garfield Street while authorities investigated.
