Santa Ana: Pedestrian Dies Following Freeway Collision

07.05.2026 | 12:13 AM | SANTA ANA – A pedestrian who may have jumped from a railroad bridge onto a freeway was struck and killed by a passing motorist, early Sunday morning.

The collision occurred on the southbound I-5 Freeway just north of Grand Avenue around 12:13 AM.

Callers reported seeing a pedestrian, who may have jumped from a nearby railroad bridge onto the freeway, struck by a passing vehicle.

Medics arrived on scene and pronounced the pedestrian deceased on scene.

Several lanes of traffic were halted for over an hour while authorities attended to the scene.

There was no word on any additional circumstances that led up to the fatal collision.
