Santa Ana: Pedestrian Dead After Being Struck On Bridge

02.03.2021 | 9:05 PM | SANTA ANA – A man was struck and killed while attempting to cross a street, Wednesday night.

The crash occurred shortly after 9:00 PM on the West 1st Street bridge over the Santa Ana River.

When authorities arrived on scene they found an adult male pedestrian down in the roadway near a black 2009 Toyota Prius.

Firefighter paramedics attempted to revive the pedestrian but later pronounced them deceased on scene.

Initial reports indicate that the Toyota was traveling westbound on West 1st Street when it struck the pedestrian in a crosswalk.

The driver of the Toyota remained on scene and was cooperating with law enforcement.

Drugs or alcohol are not believed to have been involved.
