Santa Ana: Passenger In Vehicle Struck By Gunfire

06.20.2026 | 11:38 PM | SANTA ANA – One person is in critical condition after being shot while riding in a vehicle, late Saturday night.

Officers heard three gunshots and observed a vehicle fleeing at high-speeds in the area of South Standard Avenue and East Edinger Avenue, around 11:38 PM.

Police eventually stopped the vehicle, a silver Nissan Sentra, and learned one of its occupants had been struck by gunfire.

Medics treated the wounded victim on scene before rushing them to a nearby hospital where police said they were in critical but stable condition.

A bullet hole was seen in the rear window of the Nissan.

Officers also stopped a black Dodge Charger occupied by several individuals nearby but later released the vehicle and its occupants.

Evidence related to the shooting was located on South Evergreen Street prompting officers to cordon off the area while crime scene technicians processed the scene.

No arrests were reported and police said the individuals involved in the shooting were uncooperative.
