Santa Ana: Officers Discover Shooting Victim During Routine Traffic Stop

04.10.2022 | 10:40 PM | SANTA ANA – A man suffering from a gunshot wound was found inside a vehicle by officers conducting a routine traffic stop, late Sunday night.

The man was a passenger inside a silver Lexus sedan that was stopped by officers in the 1000 block of South Grand Avenue around 10:40 PM.

Officers quickly summoned medics who treated the victim on scene before transporting him to OC Global Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two other occupants of the vehicle, a male and female adult, were uninjured.

The exact reason officers stopped the vehicle was not immediately known although police said it was initially a routine traffic stop.

It was unclear where the man sustained the gunshot wound or whether he was on the way to a hospital when officers stopped the vehicle. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
