Santa Ana: Man Shot While Walking Down Street

10.10.2021 | 10:30 AM | SANTA ANA – A man walking down a street was injured after being shot, Sunday morning.

The shooting occurred near the intersection of South Evergreen and Edinger Avenue as a man was walking on a sidewalk around 10:30 AM.

Authorities responding to the scene located the adult male who reported he had heard gunfire and then felt an injury.

Firefighter paramedics confirmed the man had been struck by gunfire and rushed him to an area hospital where he was expected to survive.

Officers cordoned off the area surrounding the shooting and discovered at spent shell casings in the street.

A suspect description and motive were not immediately available.

Although the shooting occurred in an disputed gang area, police said it was not immediately clear if the incident was gang-related.
