Santa Ana: Man Shot To Death While Driving Crashes Into Santa Ana College Prompting Campus Closure

09.16.2019 | 1:03 AM | SANTA ANA – A man who was shot to death while driving crashed into the Santa Ana College prompting a complete closure of the campus, early Monday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a shooting in the 1500 block of North Bristol Street around 1:03 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a vehicle that had crashed into the parking lot of Santa Ana College after jumping a curb.

Inside the vehicle officers located a male driver suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Firefighter paramedics responded and pronounced the adult male deceased on scene.

Authorities cordoned off the Santa Ana College campus while they searched for several suspects who they believed fled onto the campus.

Officers quickly detained five people, two from Long Beach and three from Carson, for questioning in connection with the shooting crash.

School officials reported that the entire campus was closed until further notice and that all Monday classes and events were cancelled.

Faculty and students were advised not to return to campus until further notice.

An investigation is ongoing.
