08.13.2023 | 1:53 AM | SANTA ANA – A man was found shot to death in a liquor store parking lot, early Sunday morning.
The deadly shooting was reported outside Adolfo’s Liquor Store, located in the 2700 block of North Bristol Street, around 1:53 AM when callers reported hearing about seven gunshots.
Authorities rushed to the scene where they located an adult male, later identified as 29-year-old Jorge Velazquez, of Santa Ana, down in the parking lot suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper torso.
Medics pronounced Velazquez deceased on scene before while police cordoned off the area with crime scene tape.
Several individuals were initially detained but were not placed under arrest, police said.
The suspect(s) involved in the deadly shooting remain outstanding and are being sought by authorities.
No description of the suspect(s) or a motive was immediately available though police suspect the shooting was gang-related.
