03.28.2021 | 11:23 PM | SANTA ANA – A man was shot by his neighbor who was later arrested after a brief standoff with police, late Sunday night.
The incident unfolded in the 400 block of East Camile Street around 11:23 PM when witnesses say they heard 3-4 gunshots.
Authorities arriving on scene located an adult male suffering from a gunshot wound inside a home and learned that the suspected shooter resided next door.
Firefighter paramedics rushed the victim to a nearby hospital in unknown condition while officers surrounded the suspect’s residence.
The suspect was ordered out of the neighboring home by police but refused to comply for about an hour until surrendering when officers threatened to deploy a police K-9.
It was not immediately clear what prompted the shooting.
