Santa Ana: Firefighters Rescue Man From Santa Ana River Following Rainstorm

12.11.2022 | 9:42 AM | SANTA ANA – A man trapped in the middle of a riverbed was rescued by firefighters amid a rainstorm, Sunday morning.

The man was found under under the Memory Lane bridge in the middle of the Santa Ana River by authorities responding to reports of a person trapped in the flowing riverbed around 9:42 AM.

Crews quickly deployed a rope and life jacket to the man while preparing to hoist him to safety.

Eventually an aerial ladder was used to insert a rescuer and remove the male victim to dry land.

Medics assessed the man on scene before transporting him to an area hospital to be evaluated further.

A fire department helicopter was used to search the surrounding waters for any additional victims although none were located.

It is unclear why the man was in the riverbed during a rainstorm.
