12.22.2024 | 12:03 AM | SANTA ANA – A man sustained a gunshot wound when gunfire broke out during a fight, early Sunday morning.
Authorities responded to reports of a fight possibly related to a party in the 900 block of West Bishop Street, near South Flower Street, around midnight.
While responding police were informed that gunfire broke out and one person was injured.
Units arriving on scene located a male victim down on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound.
Medics treated the shooting victim on scene before rushing him to an area trauma center in what appeared to be stable condition.
A vehicle believed to be related to the shooting was located and subsequently stopped near the intersection of East Warner and South Standard avenues.
Two individuals from the vehicle were detained and one was subsequently arrested on unknown charges and eventually released from the Santa Ana Jail.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation and it is unclear if any other suspects are outstanding.
