Santa Ana: Man Injured After Multiple Cars Burn

12.04.2020 | 11:05 PM | SANTA ANA – A man sustained second-degree burns after an apparent crash led to a vehicle fire that engulfed two vehicles and damaged others, Friday night.

The incident was reported as a fire in the 100 block of East Alton Avenue, near Main Street, shortly after 11:00 PM.

Crews arriving on scene found two vehicles engulfed in flames along in a parking lot with a vegetation that had also caught fire.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames and determined that two vehicles had burnt while two others sustained damage from the vegetation that caught fire.

One man sustained second-degree burns as a result of the fire was was transported by ambulance to an area hospital.

It appears that one vehicle, a white Ford Ranger, struck the railing of a nearby staircase but it was unclear if the crash caused the fire.

Fire investigators are on scene working to determine the circumstances that lead up to the incident.
