08.24.2023 | 11:04 PM | SANTA ANA – A man was rushed to a hospital after being found shot outside a liquor store following an altercation, late Thursday night.
Callers reported an altercation followed by shots being fired in the 4500 block of West 1st Street, near South Newhope Street, around 11:04 PM.
When authorities arrived they found a male adult down in front of a liquor store suffering from a gunshot wound to his lower extremities.
Medics treated the man on scene before rushing him to an area hospital with a police officer in tow. His condition was described as non-life-threatening.
Officers established a crime scene and began scouring for evidence while interviewing several individuals that may have witnessed the shooting.
No suspects were in custody and it was unclear what prompted the altercation and subsequent shooting.
