Santa Ana: Man Dead After Car-to-Car Shooting

02.06.2021 | 9:14 PM | SANTA ANA – A man was killed in an apparent car-to-car shooting and three suspects were arrested, Saturday night.

The shooting broke out shortly before 9:14 PM near the intersection of West MacArthur Boulevard and South Bear Street.

When police arrived in the area they located a grey 2008 BMW 535i with driver’s side damage parked in the 1600 block of West MacArthur Boulevard with a male driver and female passenger inside.

The driver had sustained a gunshot wound and was rushed to OC Global Medical Center by firefighter paramedics where he was later pronounced deceased.

The female passenger, reportedly the victim’s girlfriend, was uninjured.

Witnesses reported seeing a green 1999 Chevrolet Blazer pull along side the BMW while traveling eastbound on West MacArthur Boulevard just before the gunfire broke out.

The Chevrolet then fled scene at high-speeds shortly but was later spotted by officers near the intersection of South Harbor Boulevard and Warner Avenue.

After stopping the vehicle police detained three male occupants.

All three men were later arrested and booked on suspicion of murder, assault with a firearm, and other gang-related charges in connection with the car-to-car shooting.

They were identified as Alfredo Ivan Pulido, 22-years-old, Leonel Diaz, 21-years-old, and Jason Garcia, 21-years-old. All three men are Santa Ana residents.
