Santa Ana: High-Speed Pursuit Ends With Arrest (Caught on Camera)

11.25.2023 | 12:30 AM | SANTA ANA – A man who fled from officers at speeds of 130 MPH was arrested after ditching his car and trying to run away on foot in an arrest that was caught on camera, early Saturday morning.

The male suspect fled when officers tried to stop his speeding Toyota Camry on the southbound I-5 Freeway near Euclid Street around 12:30 AM.

A high-speed pursuit that reached speeds of 130 MPH ensued before the suspect exited the freeway at 4th Street and continued onto city streets.

Eventually the suspect entered the parking lot of an abandoned building, allowing his vehicle to strike a fence before fleeing on foot over the fence and onto a nearby sidewalk.

Officers were faster than the suspect and quickly subdued him in just seconds.

Due to the suspect’s complaints of pain and nausea, medics responded to transport him to a nearby hospital.

Video captured portions of the vehicle pursuit along with the suspect fleeing on foot and his eventually detention by officers.
