Santa Ana: Firefighters Battle House Fire Near Fire Station

06.03.2021 | 10:55 PM | SANTA ANA – Heavy fire damaged a home just doors down from a fire station, Thursday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a fire burning in the 1600 block of East 4th Street, just two doors down from OCFA Fire Station No. 72, around 11:00 PM.

Units quickly arrived on scene to find heavy smoke and fire showing from a two-story home.

Firefighters initiated an aggressive fire attack and worked to extinguish the seat of the fire but heavy fire involvement weakened both floors of the building.

As a result of the conditions crews worked defensively to prevent flames from spreading.

No injuries were reported and the home appeared vacant at the time of the fire.

An investigation is underway to determine what ignited the blaze.
