08.08.2021 | 12:19 AM | SANTA ANA – A suspected DUI driver slammed into a work truck that was parked within a road closure, early Sunday morning.
The collision was reported around 12:19 AM on MacArthur Boulevard just west of the SR-55 Freeway.
Units arriving on scene located a silver Mercedes-Benz C250 that had struck several cones before colliding with a white Ford work truck that was parked within a road closure.
The Mercedes sustained major front-end damage and the driver, who could be seen vomiting, was rushed to an area hospital for treatment.
An open bottle of what appeared to be vodka could be seen on the floorboard in front of the driver’s seat in the Mercedes.
Preliminary information suggests the driver of the Mercedes was DUI at the time of the crash but officers are continuing to investigate.
