Santa Ana: Driver Dead After Wrapping Car Around Palm Tree

07.20.2025 | 12:26 AM | SANTA ANA – A 37-year-old man was killed when his vehicle collided with a palm tree at high speeds, early Sunday morning.

The deadly collision was reported in the 1300 block of South Main Street, near East Oxford Street, around 12:26 AM.

When units arrived they located what appeared to be a silver Scion XB wrapped around a palm tree.

The driver of the vehicle, later identified as 37-year-old Francisco Estrada Rivera, of Santa Ana, was trapped inside the wreckage and later pronounced deceased by medics.

Initial reports indicate Rivera was traveling southbound on Main Street at high-speeds when his vehicle lost control and careened into the palm tree.

No other injuries were reported and the cause of the collision remains under investigation.
