Santa Ana: Double Shooting Leads To Standoff

01.30.2022 | 3:43 AM | SANTA ANA – A double shooting that injured two men led to a police standoff outside a home, early Sunday morning.

The shooting was reported near the intersection of North Raitt Street and West 2nd Street around 3:43 AM.

Units arriving in the area located two victim suffering from gunshot wounds and learned that the shooter might be hiding in a nearby home.

Firefighter paramedics treated both victims, described as male adults, and rushed them to area trauma centers where they were listed in stable condition.

An armored vehicle along with a team of officers surrounded the home where the suspected shooter was believed to have been hiding and evacuated a number of residents including small children.

Still authorities believe a suspect may be holed up inside the home and were continuing to surround the residence as of 6:30 AM.

It was unclear if the shooting was a random or targeted act and police are continuing to gather facts as the fluid situation progresses.
