Santa Ana: Deadly Shooting Prompts Homicide Investigation, Suspects At Large

06.03.2024 | 6:42 PM | SANTA ANA – A 19-year-old man was shot to death and the assailants responsible are being sought by police, Monday evening.

The deadly shooting was reported in an alleyway near the 1100 block of South Poplar Street around 6:42 PM.

When authorities arrived they located a 19-year-old male, identified as Angel Junior Vuelvas, of Santa Ana, down in the roadway suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Medics treated Vuelvas at the scene before rushing him to a nearby trauma center were he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased.

Initial reports indicate the persons responsible for the homicide fled the scene in a vehicle.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting are under investigation though police have indicated the incident may be gang-related.
