07.31.2021 | 3:19 AM | SANTA ANA – A crash involving two vehicles left one person dead and another injured, early Saturday morning.
The collision occurred on the southbound I-5 Freeway just north of 17th Street around 3:19 AM.
Units arriving on scene located a a Honda Pilot and a Subaru blocking multiple lanes, according to a California Highway Patrol incident log.
The driver of the Subaru was transported by ambulance to OC Global Medical Center with minor injuries, according to radio traffic.
A second victim, believed to be the driver of the Honda, was pronounced deceased on scene, according to the log and radio traffic.
Only one lane was open while authorities investigated the circumstances that lead up to the fatal crash.
