San Diego: Man Leaning Against Bus Degloved

09.19.2021 | 10:40 PM | SAN DIEGO – A man who was leaning against a city bus was degloved as the vehicle began moving, Sunday night.

The incident occurred near a bus stop in the 4300 block of University Avenue around 10:40 PM.

When units arrived on scene they learned that a man in his 50s was leaning against a city MTS bus as the vehicle began moving.

As a result the man fell, striking his head, and causing his right arm to be crushed under the weight of the bus tire.

The man’s hand was degloved as the bus continued to move and he was later rushed to an area hospital with multiple injuries but is expected to survive.

Initial reports indicate the man was under the influence of alcohol when the incident occurred.

Officers are continuing to investigate the incident but no other injuries were reported.
