Orange: Two Shot By Apparent Mongols Member

01.13.2024 | 12:14 AM | ORANGE – Two men were shot by an apparent Mongols Motorcycle Club member who was quickly arrested near a bar in Old Towne Orange, early Saturday morning.

The shooting occurred in a parking lot behind Paul’s Cocktails, located in the 200 block of West Chapman Avenue, around 12:14 AM.

Officers in the area heard gunfire and responded to the location where they located two male adult victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both victims were treated by medics and rushed to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The suspected shooter, wearing various Mongols Motorcycle Club apparel, was located nearby with a firearm and arrested. His identity was not immediately disclosed.

Surveillance video viewed by County News shows three men involved in an apparent altercation in the parking lot before one of the men retrieves a firearm and begins to open fire.

It was unclear what prompted the shooting but unconfirmed reports indicate the incident may have been gang related.
