Orange: Shooting At The Outlets Injures One, Causes Panic Among Shoppers

03.17.2023 | 8:54 PM | ORANGE – A shooting at a popular outdoor mall injured one person and caused panic amongst shoppers, Friday night.

Police say the shooting occurred around 8:54 PM at The Outlets at Orange, formerly known as The Block at Orange, located at 20 City Boulevard West, during an altercation involving a group of men.

One of the men, all of whom are believed to known each other, was struck in his leg by the gunfire and rushed by his friends to a nearby hospital where he was in stable condition.

The shooter, described as a male Hispanic wearing gray sweat pants and a long-sleeve shirt, fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement.

Two individuals believed to be connected to the incident were detained by law enforcement nearby although the exact nature of their involvement could not be confirmed.

The shooting incident remains under investigation and it was unclear if any arrests had been made.

The gunfire reportedly caused panic among shoppers who fled the outdoor mall.
