Orange: Second-Alarm Fire Sends Flames Through Strip Mall Roof

12.07.2021 | 4:07 AM | ORANGE – A second-alarm fire sent flames shooting through the roof of a strip-mall, early Tuesday morning.

The fire broke out near a bakery in strip mall located in the 1600 block of West Chapman Avenue, near Feldner Road, around 4:07 AM.

Crews arriving on scene located heavy smoke and flames shooting from the roof of the strip-mall near the bakery and a vacant unit.

Firefighters worked quickly to locate and extinguish the seat of the fire near a bathroom in the strip mall before it could spread into adjacent units.

The effort to extinguish the blaze took about 30 minutes although crews were expected to remain on scene for several hours.

Both directions of West Chapman Avenue between South Marks Way and Main Street for several hours as a result of the fire.
