Orange: Police Chase Quickly Ends in Serious Crash

05.30.2023 | 4:18 PM | ORANGE – A pursuit of a stolen vehicle quickly ended in a serious crash that ejected a female suspect, Tuesday evening.

Police attempted to stop the driver of a stolen white 2020 Nissan Altima near the intersection of Main Street and Chapman Avenue around 4:18 PM.

The driver and solo occupant of the Nissan fled westbound on Chapman Avenue before attempting to enter the southbound SR-57 Freeway but lost control and crashed into the side of a green 2006 Chevrolet Malibu exiting the freeway.

The force of the crash ejected the female driver of the stolen Nissan while trapping the driver of the Chevrolet.

Firefighters worked to free the trapped victim in an extrication that lasted about 20 minutes.

Both were rushed to nearby hospitals with significant but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver of the Nissan was expected to face a slew of charges in connection with the serious pursuit crash.
