Orange: Pedestrian Killed By Train Near Station Platform

06.14.2024 | 9:15 PM | ORANGE – A pedestrian was killed by a freight train near a rail station platform, Friday night.

Authorities responded around 9:15 PM to reports of a collision involving a pedestrian and a freight train near the Orange Train Station platform located in the 100 block of North Atchison Street.

When authorities arrived they located a person down on the railroad tracks adjacent to the train platform and initiated first aid.

Despite the efforts of first responders the pedestrian was pronounced deceased.

The freight train that struck the pedestrian stopped and its conductor was cooperating with law enforcement.

Due to the length of the train at least two railroad crossings were closed for several hours.
