07.28.2023 | 10:20 PM | ORANGE – A man who appeared intoxicated jumped onto a ambulance that was transporting a patient and then jumped onto a fire truck outside whose crew stopped to intervene, Friday night.
The bizarre incident began to unfold near the intersection of The City Drive South and Medical Center Drive when a man jumped onto Orange City Fire Department’s Rescue 1 as it transporting a patient to UCI Medical Center around 10:20 PM.
A fire truck following the ambulance, Orange Truck 1, stopped to intervene when the subject jumped onto their truck and refused to climb down.
Police quickly responded and removed the man who placed into custody.
Medics assessed the man and later transported him a few hundred yards to UCI Medical Center.
