Orange: Firefighters Rescue Teen Kayakers From Rushing Waters

03.08.2023 | 6:00 PM | ORANGE – Three teens were rescued after attempting to kayak down a stream, Wednesday evening.

Authorities responded to reports of three juveniles in need of assistance after a kayaking mishap in Irvine Regional Park around 6:00 PM.

Using a helicopter to search the park, first responders located the group of teens in about 30 minutes.

All three teens were rescued by firefighters and later evaluated by medics before being released to their parents.

It appears the teens were attempting to kayak in waist-deep water when a mishap left them stranded.

According to officials at the scene, kayaking is prohibited within the park.
