Orange: DUI Suspect Crashes Into Building Causing Fire

11.03.2024 | 1:46 AM | ORANGE – A suspected DUI driver plowed into a building causing his vehicle to catch fire, early Sunday morning.

Callers reported a truck that collided into the side of a building located in the 1900 block of West Chapman Avenue around 1:46 AM.

When units arrived they located a work truck lodged into the side of a building with flames spreading from its engine.

Crews quickly doused the blaze and assessed the driver who refused medical treatment and was later arrested on suspicion of DUI.

A tow truck removed the truck from the building before firefighters worked shore up the building and prevent a structural collapse.

Eastbound lanes of West Chapman Avenue were closed for hours while authorities attended to the scene.
