Orange: Driver Killed When Another Motorist Reportedly Runs Red Light

09.19.2022 | 7:20 PM | ORANGE – The driver of a pickup truck was killed when another motorist reportedly ran a red light and caused a crash, Monday morning.

The deadly crash occurred around 9:13 AM Monday morning at the intersection of Lewis Street and Lampson Avenue when the southbound pickup truck headed was struck by a westbound SUV that reportedly ran a red light, police said.

The pickup truck, occupied by a 39-year-old man from Orange, rolled on its side and came to rest against a traffic signal pole.

Medics rushed the truck’s driver to a nearby hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

The driver of the SUV, a man from Garden Grove, remained on scene and was cooperating with law enforcement.

Drugs or alcohol were not believed to have played a role in the crash although the incident remains under investigation, police said.
