Orange: Driver Flees After Hitting Juvenile During Street Takeover

09.07.2023 | 11:44 PM | ORANGE – A juvenile was struck by a hit-and-run driver during a large street takeover in a remote part of the city, late Thursday night.

The collision occurred as a large group of vehicles engaged in a street takeover on Santiago Canyon Road over the SR-241 Freeway around 11:44 PM.

When authorities arrived they located a juvenile down in the roadway with vehicles apparently involved in the street takeover leaving the area.

Medics treated the male juvenile on scene before rushing him to an area hospital with what police described as non-life-threatening injuries.

No description of the vehicle that struck the juvenile or its driver was immediately released.

Fresh tire traction marks in circles indicative of vehicles doing stunts in the intersection.
