Orange: Crash Slices Porsche In Half, Fatally Ejecting Driver

12.23.2022 | 10:19 PM | ORANGE – A crash sliced a Porsche GTS in half and fatally ejected the driver along with the vehicle’s engine, gas tank, and a wheel, Friday night.

The deadly crash was reported on the southbound SR-55 Freeway at the Katella Avenue off ramp when a silver 2019 Porsche 911 GTS struck a guardrail at the beginning of the gore point around 10:19 PM.

The Porsche, which some witnesses say was racing with another vehicle prior to the collision, was sliced in half by the guardrail while its male driver was ejected into the roadway.

Medics pronounced the driver deceased at the scene and discovered debris including the vehicle’s engine, gas tank, and a wheel had been launched hundreds of feet across the nearby off ramp into a ditch.

At least two vehicles sustained punctures to their tires as a result of the scattered debris and multiple lanes were closed until further notice while authorities investigated the deadly crash.

No additional information regarding other involved vehicles was immediately released and witness reports of possible street racing could not be confirmed.
