Orange: Child Injured After Mother Crashes Into Parked Car

02.21.2022 | 12:53 AM | ORANGE – A small child was injured after her possibly intoxicated mother crashed into a parked vehicle, early Monday morning.

The crash occurred in a quiet residential tract located in the 200 block of South Clark Street, just north of West Palmyra Avenue, around 12:53 AM.

When authorities arrived on scene they located a red Nissan Altima with major front-end damage after colliding with a white Chevrolet pickup truck had been parked on the street.

The driver of the Nissan, a female adult, along with her approximately 2-year-old daughter were both injured in the collision and taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Witnesses who rushed to the scene after hearing the impact said the woman smelled like alcohol and made statements regarding losing her child as she attempted to flee the scene on foot.

Police said they later arrested the mother, identified as 31-year-old Guadalupe Manzarescipres, on suspicion of DUI and child endangerment.

She was booked at the Orange County Jail and being held in lieu of $100,000 bail.
