Orange: Bicyclist Without Helmet Injured After Being Struck

06.20.2020 | 12:23 AM | ORANGE – A bicyclist who was riding without a helmet sustained head trauma after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a street, early Saturday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a bicyclist at the intersection of East Fairhaven Avenue and South Yorba Street around 12:23 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a male bicyclist down in the intersection suffering from road rash and head trauma.

Firefighter paramedics treated the bicyclist on scene before transporting him to an area hospital in unknown condition.

The driver that struck the bicyclist remained on scene and was cooperating with law enforcement.

Initial reports indicate the bicyclist was in a crosswalk when he was struck.

The circumstances surrounding the crash are under investigation.
