10.25.2021 | 8:24 AM | NEWPORT BEACH – Three people were dead and another person was discovered injured inside a home on Balboa Island, Monday morning.
Authorities made the discovery inside the back unit of the home, located in the 100 block of Diamond Avenue on Balboa Island, while responding to reports of a medical emergency around 8:24 AM.
Two women and a man were found deceased at the scene while a second man was rushed to Hoag Hospital Newport Beach.
The hospitalized man was expected to survive and is believed to be the person who called 911.
Police indicated they are investigating the role of “illegal drugs” although circumstances surrounding the deaths remain under investigation.
There there is no outstanding threat to the community, police added.
