Newport Beach: Police Escort Fallen Sergeant To Cemetery

10.26.2021 | 2:00 PM | NEWPORT BEACH – The body of fallen Sergeant Randy Parker was escorted by dozens of officers from his own and other agencies to a cemetery, Tuesday afternoon.

The procession began in downtown Santa Ana and spanned the I-5, SR-55, and SR-73 freeways as it traveled to Pacific View Mortuary and Memorial Park in Newport Beach.

Sergeant Parker was described as a third-generation Newport Beach police officer who served for over 20 years through various roles.

He died of natural causes relating to a heart-condition, officials said.

Dozens of officers from surrounding various police agencies participated in the procession to honor the fallen sergeant.
