Newport Beach: McLaren Supercar Crashes Into Prius

08.29.2020 | 11:48 PM | NEWPORT BEACH – A McLaren supercar crashed into a parked vehicle when the driver lost control, late Saturday night.

The crash was reported outside a gated community near the intersection of Bayview Way and Shearwater Place around 11:48 PM.

When units arrived on scene they located a white McLaren that had crashed head-on in to a black Toyota Prius parking along the street.

Both the male driver and female passenger in the McLaren were uninjured.

The female passenger claimed the Prius was illegally parked and caused the crash but witnesses say the driver was speeding shortly before the crash.

It did not appear drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash but police are continuing to investigate.

According to internet research entry-level McLaren supercars start at $200,000.
