Newport Beach: Man Rescued From Truck After Crashing Into Pole

10.17.2021 | 9:37 PM | NEWPORT BEACH – A man who became trapped in a truck after crashing into a pole was rescued by firefighters, Sunday night.

The crash was reported at the intersection of East Coast Highway and Bayside Drive around 9:37 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a dark-colored Chevrolet Colorado that had collided with a traffic signal pole on the northwest corner of the intersection.

The driver of the vehicle, a male adult, was trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated by firefighters.

It took about 25 minutes to free the man and he was later rushed to an area hospital in unknown condition.

Multiple lanes on Pacific Coast Highway and Bayside Drive were closed until further notice while police investigated the crash.
