02.18.2026 | 9:00 PM | NEWPORT BEACH – A deceased humpback whale washed ashore following stormy weather, Wednesday night.
The juvenile humpback whale washed ashore on the beach near 10th Street on the Balboa Peninsula and was seen on camera around 9:00 PM.
The approximately 27-30 foot whale weighed in at over 23,x000 pounds and was later towed from the location back into the sea.
