03.14.2020 | 11:21 PM | NEWPORT BEACH – A crash involving a bicyclist left one person dead but authorities refused to release any additional information, late Saturday night.
Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision at the intersection of San Joaquin Hills Road and Newport Ridge Drive West around 11:21 PM.
Shortly after the crash units arriving on scene shut down all lanes of San Joaquin Hills Road between Newport Ridge Drive West and Spy Glass Hill Road until further notice.
Video from the scene shows investigators photographing a shoe located several hundred feet from a mangled bicycle.
The video also shows an older-model Honda Insight can be observed with damage and a Toyota SUV also appears stopped nearby.
Despite numerous requests for information police officials refused to return calls or release any information as of 1:20 PM the next day.
