Lakewood: Three-Alarm Fire Guts Vacant Restaurant, Firefighter Injured

02.22.2026 | 11:17 PM | LAKEWOOD – A three-alarm fire ripped through a vacant restaurant injuring one firefighter, late Sunday night.

The fire broke out at a vacant restaurant located in the 5800 block of Lakewood Boulevard, near South Street, around 11:17 PM.

When crews arrived they found heavy smoke and fire showing from the building and began efforts to douse the blaze.

Firefighters were unable to enter the building and attacked the blaze from the exterior. Multiple additional units to assist in the firefight after a third-alarm was declared.

One firefighter sustained injuries at the scene and was transported by ambulance to a hospital. The firefighter is expected to make a full recovery.

Investigators are working to determine the cause of the fire.
