Laguna Niguel: Second-Alarm Fire Scorches Private Tennis Club

06.30.2019 | 12:18 AM | LAGUNA NIGUEL – A fire that broke out at a tennis club scorched a two-story building causing a partial roof collapse, early Sunday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a structure fire in the 23500 block of Clubhouse Drive at the Laguna Niguel Racquet Club around 12:18 AM.

Crews arriving on scene located a large tennis club with heavy smoke and fire showing from a two-story building and began efforts to extinguish the blaze.

The stubborn blaze and a partial roof collapse prompted authorities to battle the flames defensively.

Within approximately one hour the flames were under control and contained to the second story building.

No injuries were reported and fire investigators were on scene working to determine the cause of the fire.
