Irvine: Woman Dies After Vehicle Is Broadsided

06.03.2023 | 5:51 PM | IRVINE – A woman was killed when the vehicle she was riding in was broadsided by another vehicle, Saturday evening.

The crash was reported on Irvine Boulevard between Sand Canyon Avenue and the SR-133 Freeway around 5:51 PM.

When authorities arrived they located a white BMW 430i that had broadsided by a gold Lexus RX300 before coming to rest against a pole.

Three of the four occupants in the BMW were rushed to nearby hospitals. One of the three, a 47-year-old female sitting in the backseat, was pronounced deceased at a nearby hospital. The other two occupants sustained non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver of the Lexus remained at the scene and was cooperating with law enforcement.

Drugs nor alcohol appeared to be a factor in the collision and an investigation into the cause of the collision is underway.
