08.25.2024 | 12:11 AM | IRVINE – Two motorcyclists died in a freeway crash following reports of reckless riding involving a group of over 50 riders, early Sunday morning.
The deadly collision was reported on the northbound I-5 Freeway just south of Culver Drive around 12:11 AM when callers said two motorcyclists riding recklessly lost control and crashed.
As many as 50 motorcyclists along with other high-end vehicles stopped nearby as bystanders initiated CPR on both of the downed riders until medics arrived, additional callers reported.
Unfortunately both riders succumbed to their injuries and were pronounced deceased on scene by first responders.
A full freeway closure was initiated with all traffic being forced off at Jeffrey Road while authorities investigated the circumstances surrounding the deadly collision.
There was no word on whether any other motorists might have been involved.
