04.02.2023 | 11:50 PM | IRVINE – A suspected DUI driver caused a two-car crash that injured two children and left one man trapped in a Tesla, late Sunday night.

The traffic collision was reported at the intersection of Walnut Avenue and Jamboree Road when a white Ford Ranger driven by a suspected DUI driver collided with grey Tesla.

The force of the crash trapped the driver of the Tesla and injured two young children in the car.

Medics rushed one of the children, an approximately 8-year-old girl, to an area hospital while working to free the trapped driver in a process that took nearly one hour.

The drivers of each vehicle were rushed to area hospitals in unknown condition. Both appeared conscious when being loaded into ambulances at the scene.

The second child from the Tesla was evaluated by medics and taken from the scene by family members.

At least one can of Modelo beer was recovered from the Ford Ranger and a news photographer located two others tossed in a nearby bush.

Police at the scene indicated that the driver of the Ford was believed to be under the influence of alcohol.
