Irvine: Police Investigating Deadly Crash

01.25.2025 | 12:40 AM | IRVINE – A woman was killed in a solo traffic collision that prompted a major accident investigation, early Saturday morning.

The deadly collision was reported on Alton Parkway just west of Sand Canyon Avenue around 12:40 AM.

When authorities arrived they found a grey Toyota bZ4X with front end damage after the vehicle apparently lost control and collided with a cement pillar.

The female driver of the vehicle, identified as 29-year-old Lucero Delarosa, of Aliso Viejo, was pronounced deceased on scene.

All eastbound lanes of Alton Parkway were closed at Valley Oak Drive while members of the Irvine Police Department’s Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) conducted a thorough investigation of the deadly crash.

At this time it is unknown whether drugs, alcohol, or a medical emergency might have played a role in the crash.
