Irvine: Pedestrian Struck & Killed By Possible Hit-And-Run Driver Near Irvine Valley College

11.12.2019 | 2:24 PM | IRVINE – A pedestrian was dead after being struck by a possible hit-and-run driver near Irvine Valley College, Tuesday afternoon.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision involving a pedestrian at the intersection of Shadow Oaks/Laser Way and Barranca Parkway around 2:24 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a male pedestrian down in the roadway suffering from major injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle.

Officers and firefighter paramedics attempted life-saving measures but ultimately pronounced the pedestrian deceased on scene.

The only vehicle located on scene was a black Mercedes Benz sedan occupied by two females who apparently witnessed the crash.

Authorities have refused to release any information regarding the vehicle or driver that struck the pedestrian.

An investigation is ongoing.
