Irvine: Pedestrian Found Dead Under Car In Roadway

08.09.2024 | 12:45 AM | IRVINE – A man who sat down in the middle of a busy road was killed, early Friday morning.

The deadly collision was reported in the northbound lanes of Jamboree Road just south of Warner Avenue around 12:45 AM.

When authorities arrived they located a male victim deceased underneath a black Lexus coupe.

Police determined the male victim had stopped in lanes of traffic and sat down before being struck.

It was unclear why the man sat down in lanes though police suspect drugs or alcohol may have been involved.

The driver of the Lexus remained on scene and was cooperating with law enforcement.

Northbound lanes of Jamboree Road were closed at Barranca Parkway for several hours while police investigated.
