11.29.2024 | 12:53 AM | IRVINE – A man miraculously survived a major crash into a pole in a Corvette C8, early Friday morning.
The major impact collision was reported at the intersection of Modjeska and Still Night around 12:53 AM when a white Corvette C8 collided with a traffic signal pole.
The collision resulted in substantial damage that left the traffic signal pole lodged several feet into the passenger compartment of the Corvette.
The driver and solo occupant of the vehicle survived the impact but was trapped in the Corvette for about 15 minutes while firefighters worked to free him.
Medics treated the driver on scene before rushing him to OC Global Medical Center where he was in serious condition.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation but based on the extent of damage it appears high-speeds were involved.
